Reasons why cricket is not so popular in Europe ?

It is said that cricket was first played South East England in 18th century. Some people also believed that cricket was first played in France.
However England is known as mother of cricket. English people loved playing cricket. Cricket develope gradually. During the time of colonization cricket already became popular in English people. So when the English man travelled different countries for colonization, cricket also traveled with them. So the part of the world where Britishers lived cricket became popular there as well. Therefore cricket is most popular in the Indian subcontinent.
Europe was not a colony of Britishers so cricket is not being there for a long time and that is the main reason for no popularity of cricket in Europe.

Another big reason is that, Cricket is not a part of Olympics. And many European countries Focus on sports which is part of Olympics.

Climate of Europe is also a big factor for which very less European people play cricket. Europe is a cold continent many times it face snowfall, but cricket needs dry pitch to play upon it.
